AC:HPE Embedding General Capabilities and Cross-Curricular Perspectives

Janice Atkin and Natalie Jonas from the ACARA HPE Review team will be facilitating this session. The session includes:
Overview of the proposed changes to the general capabilities continua with a focus on Personal and social capability and Digital literacy (formerly ICT capability)
Overview of revisions to HPE curriculum to strengthen the authentic links to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders histories and cultures CCP.
Unpacking the language of movement content and how we have made it more inclusive of all learners.

Stage 2 PE Cross-moderation AT1
Northern Territory School of Distance Education

Please bring 3 samples: a C- and/or D+ sample, a A+/A/A- sample and a B sample. Participants are welcome to bring additional samples as well, however the session will focus around the lower, mid and high range. Participants are encouraged to attend in person, although a zoom option is available if you are unable to do so.
The venue is NTSDE Media Lab (top floor). The session will be facilitated by Eulaly Allen.

Session Type: Practical. Please wear active clothing and appropriate footwear.

Session 2 of 2: Establishing and managing a practical classroom environment can be challenging and complex at times regardless of your level of experience. This session caters for University students and Early Career Teachers who are wanting to gain suggestions or insights about how to support student learning and manage behaviour in a practical environment. This session will focus on the management of behaviour that arises throughout practical lessons. Participants will learn various strategies that can be utilised to reduce the severity of a larger behaviour incidents as well as how to mange ongoing smaller behvaiours to prevent disruption to student learning and maintain a safe classroom environment.

ACHPER and RLSSA NT branch have teamed up to deliver an ACHPER NT branch members only FREE Bronze update. If you are interested in taking up this opportunity and you require an extension to your current Bronze qualification please contact trainingmanagernt@rlssa.org.au to seek an extension through to 21 April.
ACHPER and RLSSA NT will be running an update in April each year.
Please note the course starts at 4pm at the pool with togs on.
The Royal Life Saving Society's Bronze Medallion Update Course offers great opportunities within the aquatic industry and beyond. This course is for ACHPER financial members wishing to update their current Royal Life Saving Bronze Medallion award.
Please note: Participants must hold a current Bronze Medallion Qualification. If you do not hold a current Bronze Medallion or it has expired, you will need to book into the full Bronze Medallion course.
Participants who successfully complete this award will be re-accredited with both Bronze Medallion and Resuscitation Awards.
The Royal Life Saving Bronze Medallion Award should be renewed every 12 months.
Nibbles will be provided.

Stage 2 PE Workshop

This workshop is targeted for Stage 2 PE teachers.
3.30-4.15pm Session facilitated by John Bament and Jake Barnes to provide suggestions, ideas and support on different multimodal presentation formats to compliment Assessment Type 3 or other assessment types.
4.15-5pm Session facilitated by Eulaly Allen. A Review and Reflection on Assessment Type 3; Group Dynamics. Must do, Could do and do not do from her experience marking external assessments in 2020.

Stage 1 and 2 Health and Wellbeing planning workshop
Casuarina Senior College
8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
This workshop will unpack the new SACE Stage 1 & 2 Health & Wellbeing course which starts in 2021. Session one will focus on the school assessment component. Participants will have time to begin planning LAP's, assessment tasks and programming activities for the year. Session two will focus on the Inquiry task which is the 30% external component of the course. Participants will have a chance to unpack the task and create activities for students to be successful in this task. The third session will focus on using interactive online applications to help your students collaborate and have fun whilst learning, this session will present a range of applications to engage your students in the health classroom.
Please bring along your phone/laptop/tablet to take part in the interactive presentation.
All ACHPER members will receive a free copy of VCE Health and Human Development Units 1 & 2 and Units 3 & 4.
Presenter - Graeme Hudson
Coordinator HPE/Cross Disciplinary and College Events at Marden Senior College SA. Graeme has been a marker/moderator in SACE Health for 10 years and the Lead Practitioner for 7 years. He has presented Health sessions at the ACHPER SA State conference and Secondary conference for the last 5 years.
