ACHPER and RLSSA NT branch have teamed up to deliver an ACHPER NT branch members Bronze Medallion course.

The Royal Life Saving Bronze Medallion is recognised as the minimum standard for a qualified lifesaver. This course will enhance participants' personal survival skills while providing them with the knowledge and skills to develop the level of judgment, technique, and physical ability required to safely carry out water rescues.
The minimum age requirement is 14 years and participants should possess medium to advanced levels of aquatic fitness and skill. The Bronze Medallion's most challenging components include a 400m swim (continuously) to be completed within 13 minutes (100m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke, 100m Sidestroke, 100m Survival Backstroke), and a 50m swim followed by 50m tow to be completed in under 3 minutes and 15 seconds.
The RLSSA Bronze Medallion Award needs to be renewed every 12 months.
The Bronze Medallion course offers nationally recognised certification and participants may be eligible for accreditation in:

  • SISCAQU002 Perform basic water rescues
  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

More information will be emailed to participants after registering for this course.
